So you probably think I forgot about my blog, I know, but I'm just now getting back into the swing of things now that I'm settled into my new home and all and I think now is the perfect time to bring it back! Just know that my blog is going to be SERIOUSLY revamped. I am definitely into home decor more-so now that I have my own home! SO hopefully you'll see some of that in the near future.
As of late I haven't been as fashionable on a regular basis, mostly because I'm a newlywed and well, I'm straight chillin, for lack of better word. So, I thought I would share with you some of my honeymoon photos, because Maui is the most beautiful place I've ever been to, and we got some great photos, with Canon and an iPhone. I just cant keep these photos to myself!
Also, for those who follow my YouTube channel, you know how finicky I am with my hair, I never keep the same style for long. But, this hair has lasted me through thick and thin! Although I am natural, I opted to wear straight hair and try to keep my leave out covered as much as possible, because it was less fuss for me to deal with every morning. I wore my favorite Jace Beauty Russian Fede U-part wig the entire week (1+ year review coming soon), and it held up wonderfully.
As for my sandals, I purchased these from Etsy (I'll link the seller
here). They're handmade in Greece, a simple leather sole with elastic cord straps. I'm in love! I'm not a flip flop girl, I hate to succumb to what is "normal" beach wear, so of course I decided to opt for something with more personality.
The sandals aren't the cheapest, however I plan on keeping them for a long time. I only buy sandals once every two the three years until they fall apart... because I take a simple pair and wear them with everything. And I'm sure with the way the weather is here in Chicago, I wont be getting AS much wear out of them as I would if I still lived in Texas.
But can we just talk about how AMAZING the food is again, just one more time.
We went to Mama's Fish House in Paia, they have the most MARVELOUS food. Not only that, but right in the backyard of the restaurant is a beautiful beach scene with black rocks. We got there an hour early to do some pre-dinner photo snapping.
The waves were on point that day!
I wore a Forever 21 bralet with beading and an American Apparel
skirt, and I accessorized with a necklace and gold bangle, both from Etsy, and Asos mirrored sunglasses.
Even though Hawaii is known for its flowery, pretty water scenes, I'm not a water person, and I love rugged textures. Especially in photography... I love taking pictures with wood, brick and rocky backgrounds.
Clearly the Hubbs was having fun taking pictures of me (:
I mean who takes photos like that with an IPHONE? My maansss (:
We were so sad to leave. I definitely want to go back one day!
And when we do go back, I'm climbing those mountains! xx
